Losing Tranny or possible vacuum?

ok guys im hoping it doesnt come down to having the tranny rebuilt (like i think it may)...so first im eliminating all of my options.
first...shes a '94 LT with the 4.3 Vortec code W. id been starting to lose drive once in awhile but still had 1 & 2 strong as well as OD. at first it seemed to be a vacuum problem due to one of the hoses being loose from corrosion. after replacing that...she was ok but then got worse. ive now lost drive and OD totally but am still running 1 & 2 strong. i can shift her to drive and OD and back and you can hear the shift, but the gear doesnt catch. i get no lights that come on (check engine, etc) and all gages stay normal. i thought i had it narrowed down to the vehicle speed sensor. changed that and still have the problem. i just flushed her too. shes got over 400,000 on her and the motor and tranny have been solid. maybe she is finally due for a rebuild and maybe i am just trying to avoid the inevitable of rebuilding the tranny. any ideas?

Ok, so you got it flushed, but did you change the tranny fluid filter?

The only vacuum hoses the should be anywhere near your tranny goto the xfer case switch to throw the front differential. No model of 700R4/4L60(e) uses vacuum.

if you lost 3/4 then you lost a clutch. You *could* have an e-model (in fact Im sure of it) that has lost a shift solenoid, but more typically you lost the high gear clutch pack.

Rebuild time.

Cool

Jesus, 400k thats about the life ya can get from her. But honestly if she's still running after that long, you got a good blazer. Someone must of been drunk on the assembly line for mine.

Mine:
50k Alternator died.
50k Distributor died.
60k New Rotors.
65k Air Intake Manifold Gasket Cracked.
70k Master Cylinder leaked.
70k Break booster died. (60 on the freeway without power breaks, yes it is frightening)
75k New alternator/rotors/mastercylinder.
50k + Clanking noise in the Transmission during shifting (GM says its normal).

95,000 miles on mine.

Yes, so anyone out there thinks that their blazer is high matenence?
