What things am I going to have to upgrade (suspension wise) to my 70 240z, to be at least a daily driver when it comes to winter (i'm in northern Minnesota) , plus be able to take the old 455 I'm going to drop in it?
Winter is coming soon so HELP! thanks... also will the hiccas system from say an r34 have any benifit? Can it /has it been done? How much $ involved? |

HICAS or the AWD system??? well its ALOT OF MONEY either way. i would steer clear of trying to do that. alot of fabrication and money would be involved.
suspension to handle a bigger motor and snow. well for the snow, probably just get away with throwing a set of snow tires on there. for the suspension, your suspension now is probably weak and saggy so i would just give it some new shocks and maybe some eibach springs.

Re: Need some help on the snow shoes for my 70 240z

snow tires will make a huge difference but i still wouldnt do it. salt on the roads do more harm than the actualy snow.

yes, snow tires really help.. trust me i'd know, it's already snowed here twice, you'll wanna make sure they're properly inflated tho..

Ok to answer the original question...
HICAS (HIgh Capacity Active Steer) is not something you can just swap off one car and put on another... Doesnt work like that. It would be so hard to fabricate, I wouldnt want to go anywhere near the project... Just get a stronger powertrain, like an RB20DET or even a CA18DET. And yes, upgrade the suspension. -Wes
