Question Won't Start

I recently changed the fluids, plugs, dist. cap in my '91 323...now it won't start. The engine will turn but will not fire. I have spark. fuel pump is working. No blown fuses. I am at a loss

When you say POWER TRANSISTOR, is that the same thing as the igniter? Or is it yet another part that I've never heard of? ("Igniter" was a new one to me).

I'm having the same problem on my 1990 Mazda 323 (1.6 liter SOHC): changed cap and rotor (and air filter), engine now cranks but won't start. Only difference is I'm getting NO SPARK. All wires are correctly connected, coil checks out OK, and no shop is able to test the igniter for me. (They have the testing machine, but not the proper adapter/connector. And two dealers have said they can't test the igniter unless it's on the car. Are they BS'ing me?) I pulled an igniter off a wrecked 323 and put it in, but still no start, no spark. Any ideas, anyone? Please?

I have a '91 Protege and recently it wouldn't start. I checked everything and nohing was leaking or blown or broken. I jump started it and it fired right up. Turns out it was my battery. I got a new one and it hasn't quit yet. Yours might be dead.
