2001 Spark Plug Extensions Leaking

I accidentally poked a whole in 3 of the long boots on the bottom of the coils on a 2001 rodeo v6. Now the spark seems to get out(haha). Vehicle barely runs at all. CEL is also on. I had no idea at the time that these coils were so much more potent than the normal engine coils. Anyway, the boots only come with the coils aparently for a price of 100+ each. Anybody know any place to buy them separately? Can I fix them with silicon rtv? what about bicycle tire patch kit? any advice would be greatly appreciated.

how and where did you poke a hole in them?

I'm changing my plugs this weekend.

Also, make sure you use the same brand and type (part number) plug that you pull out

The coils pulled out of the extensions, leaving the extensions stuck on the spark plugs. They are flush mount so it is rally hard to get a hold oothem to pull the off. Got pissed and tried to pry some out with screwdriver. Grabbed another with the channel locks. I think the best way may be to staighten a coathanger and bend a small hook or angle on the end and try to push it down between the extension and the plug(if this is possible) to help pop it loose.

To remove the coil over the plug, remove the two screws, then unplug the connector (two wires going in) then twist twist twist the coil (wrap fingers under the coil)

Are u sure I can buy just the boot. All I found on car parts was the coil and boot together. Thanks for the info.

I'm sure you can deal with the used part dealer for just the boot.

Also, there are 6 individual ones on ebay right now.
