Towing with Impala???????????

I was wondering how much i can pull with my 2000 Impala 3.4 liter over a distance of about 1400 miles without over pulling? Also, does anyone have a used hitch for my car. I need one to put on it. I had planned on pulling a small to midsized uhaul trailor. I just want to make sure I'm not going to wreck my car. I looked through the owners manual and i didn't find anything that was really convincing, one guy told me it would pull 6500 lbs...i doubt it, then another said 3500 lbs with less then a 1,000 pounds tongue weight. This is all confusing and I thought i would ask on here.
