Chevy s-10 Blazer... need help!!!

This could almost be a duplicate post to the Chevy s-10 blazer runs bad!!!! post. I have my truck down at the garage and the mechanic wants to wash his hands of it. I bought this truck from my dad and the mechanic (hes my dads mechanic) has done all the work on it thus far. Runs fine for about the first 5 minutes, after that sounds like what maybe the fuel pump gets REAL LOUD, and its like it doesnt get any gas and just dies. Also theres a popping noise sometimes when it acts up. He has cleaned out the Cat. converter maybe thinking it was clogged, nothing. Disconnected the EGR, nothing. REPLACED the EGR, nothing. The fuel pump was replaced in August. Hes thinking its something with the fuel injector, and said if thats the case it could cost me almost 600.00. But hes not even sure. Im no mechanic myself so I have no clue about anything. Also... I used to have a 1992 VW Jetta. I live in Nh and here it ran FINE. Drove it out to Colorado and everytime I got 30 minutes within Denver it acted the SAME WAY. I thought it had something to do with the oxygen out there since its so much thinner out there. Once I got it out of the area it was fine. I drove it all the way back home to NH with no problems. Made the same loud noise and everything though when it acted up. The way my Blazer is running is the EXACT duplication of my Jetta in Denver. I brought it to auto shops out there and no one could tell me what was wrong with it either. Someone please help!! I would hate to junk it since almost every part in it is brand new, just to have it be something no so expensive to fix. Thanks!!

Well the MOST important thing that you can have checked on your truck is the fuel pressure . With out knowing what the pressure is when its running good and when its running bad .
Wow he wants to wash his hands of it sounds like he is no Auto Tech that I would ever go to.
I hate to say this but you will save money in the long run by taking it to a GOOD GM Dealer.
I dont want to guess a what is wrong and have you replace good parts
Cpi system is known for lots of problems. At least have them look at it and tell you whats wrong and then you can take it someware else to have it fixed if the price is to high.

I just don't get this mechanic. He hears the fuel pump act up but then starts working on the exhaust system? Where is the intelligence in that?

You need to have the fuel system checked. Your pumpm is probably shot and that is what you are getting the truck shutting down. The pump just gives up and the engine will be starved for fuel.

You also need to have the internal injector and fuel line kit checked out inside the upper part of the plenum.

To be completely honest with you, I am not to impressed with your mechanics troubleshooting skills. Anyone that disregards the obvious and works on the exhaust system in one clueless grease monkey.

Hell, he never even replaced a possible plugged fuel filter....
