Got hit from behind...few ??'s
I love tailgaters. I was coming home at about 11:00pm Thursday and this dickhead was on my ass and sure enough a car in front of me hit the brakes and i did but the dickhead behind me hesitated and smack right into my bumper. It's dented and crack to all hell so I need a new one. Instead of just getting the stock bumper I'm just gonna buy a fiber glass one. Any tips on what to look for when buying body kits?

Did you call the cops? Even if you're still is "no fault", you can still get like $500 form his insurance company. Find an expensive body shop, get a qoute from them, get money from his insurance, and buy a body kit.

I'd have it checked out by a body shop, being rear ended hard enough to mess up the bumper can accually warp your car, expecially hatches because they have the lease structure to stiffen them.

Yeah most definatly get your car checked out, one place in particular is the rear cross member, if it bent or ripped it needs taken care of... and isn't your neck sore

He had no insurance so we agreed that he would pay for the stuff today. So we went to a body shop to have it qouted and they said about $800. So he wrote me off a check and I cashed it. So now I can use that to fix it or just a body kit instead.

Was it just the bumper that was damaged? $800 just for a bumper seems like a lot.

Go to the junkyard, get a bumper, then get it sprayed for $100 or so. There ya go, just made some extra cash :-D

An accident is actually a pretty good time to get a body kit. Instead of spending money on a factory bumper, you can get a body kit for not much more.

An aftermarket bumper will allways be cheeper than ordering an OEM one from factory.

urethane is definatly not more durable than fiberglass, its just more flexable.
