quick battery question
ok, so i just went to an incubus concert...it was good, but when I came out, my car wouldn't start. I popped the hood and realized that the wire that attaches to the red(+) terminal came pretty much off...it is barely touching. I attached it and the alarm went off, and if you remember, my remote for the alarm has a dead battery. So I had to take it off, and leave the car over night, becuase I couldn't shut the alarm off.
OK, so the question. I know when you reattach a battery you do the positive terminal first, then the negative. Well now the negative is already attached, and the positive wire is barely touching the terminal. How should I proceed? Disconnect the negative, attach positive, attach negative? Or what? This may sound like a stupid question, but I'm so tired I can't think straight, and I don't want to do anything stupid. Thanks.

Is the Pos Terminal Bad?
Is the Positive Battery Terminal Bad?,
If so just disconnect the negative, install a new + Positive Battery terminal, and then connect the - Negative battery terminal first, then connect the new positive Term + Good Luck Mr.Rob Lic Mech Auto/Truck/Trailer Ect.... |

something similar happened to my 3000gt a while back when i was installing my amp. i was connecting the amps power wire to the battery and the black wire that was also attached to the positive fell off the nut when i put on the amp wire on. after i reconnected the black wire the alarm went off ,and i too had a bad remote. after a while of not knowing what to do, it hit me. I put the key in the ignition and turned it to power hit the valet button. and that stopped it
but i guess that would also depend on your car alarm and if it was factory or aftermarket or you can go under the dash and unplug the alarm brain i later got a different alarm (i didnt want to ,or knew how to rewire the alarm so i bought a used one from ebay for $30 and replaced the brain) hope this helps |
