Question Customizing my 3000GT

I'm getting deployed to Afghanistan in about a month, meaning when I get home in a year I'm going to have a lot of cash stocked up. While I'm gone, I was thinking of getting some work done to my car but I really don't know what to do. I don't know what color(s) to paint it, go candy or chameleon, hood scoops, rim type and size, interior, and anything else. I'm sorta new at all this and any suggestions that I could get would be much appreciated, I just need some help getting my Andre3000GT rolling.

Re: Customizing my 3000GT

By the way it's a '94, and I was wondering if I should convert it to a T-Top

Re: Customizing my 3000GT

Is it a vr-4, SL or base? Are you wanting to do looks only or are you wanting to add some extra power to it.

Converting to T-Top? I know on the 79 Somke'y and the Bandit Trans Am(s) had T-Tops and that killed the handling on the car. It would cost to much for what you get IMO. My vr-4 doesn't even have a sunroof and i sorta like it that way. Where could you get the T-Top conversion done?

Welcome to the bored.

Re: Customizing my 3000GT

hmm well of course www.andysautosport.com has some goodies, and so does 3SX I think that site's www.3sx.com but as for rims I think there's a Rim guide here on AF forums somewhere and yea it's really nice, it shows u what ur car looks like with the rims on it (u can even chose the color of the car). Also, check the FAQ section, there's alot of good stuff there.

youngmanvr4, I don't understand why your VR4 doesn't have a sunroof. I thought all VR4s come with it.... I have an SL and it has one. But the again, it's a manual sunroof (my gf always laughs at that - hehe) so you're not missing out on too much.

Re: Customizing my 3000GT

Yea my SL (which is technically a base I guess since no ECS or power seats) has a power moon roof and I thought just about all base/SLs came with them, how did a VR4 manage to squeak outta the factory withought one?

Re: Customizing my 3000GT

When the car was ordered he didn't want a sunroof in it. So the car was made with out it i'm guessing.

I was the same way. I thought all VR4s come with one but i guess i was wrong.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
