Angry what the hell?

ok, i posted a few days ago about my tranny and then the p1441 light coming on. well i brought it back yesturday to aamco, so they could have it all day today and check out whats wrong. well when i picked it up today they said that they have no clue whats wrong, they say that they pressure tested the whole fuel system, no leaks. I just bought a new gas cap, so thats not it. they said they went over the engine, and spent like 3 hrs doing tests and what not. Does anyone know anything else that could cause a p1441 service engine soon light to come on that they may have missed? thanks, this is pissing me off because tuesday i will be carless again :banghead: ... thanks again

Re: what the hell?

Did they put it on a scantool to see what code is being sent to the obd2 port? The only way to know what is triggering the light is to get the code from the port.

Re: what the hell?

I just got the Helm manual for the Intrigue. Basically the code as I understand it as a "vacuum failure to release" situation from the EVAP system. I would look for a pinched or plugged line in the vacuum system. Apparently the code is set when the vacuum remains too high for too long in the EVAP system. So if they were leak testing for a vacuum leak it would show ok, but it wouldn't necessarily show a leak if a hose was pinched shut.
