Horn not working

I recently got a toyota celica 81. I think it has a air horn. It has to big ass horn hanging on the inside of the font bumper and tubes going from that to a canister thingy. From the canister comes 2 wires. A red and a peach one i bleive. They are stung along the font bumber and then conect to nothing. They were acutaly taped togethed but not tuching each other i think. They have some ends on them that plung into somehting but i dont know what? I think its a power for the cmopressor canister thingy but thing is my first horn to ever see. Could some one help me i think thoses wires are why my horn dosent work.

Re: Horn not working

Air horns are notorius for F**king up, especially in wet weather, the easyest thing to do is to just buy yourself a new set of horns, (not of the air variety)

Re: Horn not working

Its really easy depending on thier location, Havnt got a clue how much horns cost in the States. $30 maybe? depends on what you get!
Just disconnect the old ones and hook up the new ones (check their power usage, horns that use more power might blow your horn fuse)

Re: Horn not working

Try looking in the area that the wires reach too for two similar wires, then either use a voltmeter or re-attach the wires together, press the horn and see what happens. (have a spare fuse at the ready) Dont be suprized if the compresser is dead and just blows a fuse.

Re: Horn not working

That is correct, one of them is an Earth or ground wire, this can be connected to any metal point of the car. (usualy marketd with a "-" symbol). Your next job is to find the wire from your horn button and trace it to a point in your engine bay, this will be a pain in the ass of a job, You might wanna contact JMREV or 91 Celica ST both of these guys seem to know what they are talking about and might be able to give you a clue as to what wire to look out for.
