power steering

I put a new head on the 1.3 and in the process the bolts for the exhaust twisted off, I am going to clamp those back on until I decied if I want to change that whole system. If I punch out the converter will the car still run or do I need to have a converter?
I have a couple of harley mufflers that would look and sound pretty cool on the car. I am making a y pipe to adap them .

Power steering adjuster bolt was rusted in place and twisted off too.
Is there a way to remove the power steering from the car short od replacing the rack? Will it be ok to leave the rack and just remove the pump? I can fix the adjuster bolt easy enough but I really need power steering for this car. How much hp is the p/s using?
