Re: 2005 Wrx

Heheh... I remember that feeling, when I was in negotiations with the dealer over the price. "I swear I'll go buy it somewhere else if you don't come down another $2000!" But in the back of my head thinking, "Even if he doesn't come down on the price, I am *so* buying this car."

Re: 2005 Wrx

Im pretty sure it will be silver. the other vivid colors (black, blue) are sexy as hell, but in south florida those colors will fade rapidly. The waiting is hard enough, plus driving with restrictions(break in) will be even worse. I won't be able to open her up. ... does anyone have a web site that describes the intake silencer removal?

Re: 2005 Wrx

I paid $22,000 for mine, and that was with the short-throw shifter and column-mounted turbo gauge. List price/MSRP was $27K, but I shopped around and pitted dealer against dealer for about a month up to my purchase until finally one of them offered me $22K. And that's out the door price, not pre-TT&L. Make the dealers fight over you, even if you're talking to dealerships that are three or four hours away. It's worth it to travel a few hours to save yourself $5,000. That's $5,000 extra you have to spend on mods.

Re: 2005 Wrx

that is a damn good point and a damn good price. I dont really have much experience with purchasing cars from dealers. Do you think they will out the door price it for around 22K? of course i will throw threats at them

Re: 2005 Wrx

Talking to other dealerships besides say a subaru dealership helps also. Look for cars around the same price range, give them figures that the other dealers gave you for their cars. Look at like a 350z, get some specs, price, etc and go to the subaru dealer and say something like "well over at Nissan they are willing to give me a 350z with blah blah blah for $25,000 if i buy today or tomorrow." That way you give them a time frame in which to act and it stresses them a little to make the sale.

Re: 2005 Wrx

Also, the sales rep at a Subaru dealership that is in charge of internet sales doesn't work on a traditional commission scale like the other sales reps do. His scale is based on volume, not price. Thus, if you email and get quotes you may be able to push them right down to their invoice price via the internet because you don't have to pay his commission (at least, not in the same way as the "walk-in" reps).
