Civic problem. Need help.

I have a 1997 Honda Civic EX (78000 miles) and I have a Problem, maybe you guys can help me out. Sometimes when I step off the gas or step on the brakes, sometimes my radio would shut off then it would come back on, and the speedometer would go crazy even though my speed doesnt change. Whenever I use my powerwindows or step on the brakes at night, the headlights would flicker. I do not know if those problems are connected or not. What do you guys think is wrong?

Yep, sounds like your alternator is going out. I would have it checked soon, or you might end up on the side of the road somewhere.

get it checked at an auto parts store. I don't trust anything from radio shack that is under $10 lol.

Re: Civic problem. Need help.

I took my car to the Honda dealership cause i knew someone that works there and they checked everything and they said that everything was fine, including the alternator. However, they said that my battery was really corroded because it was making poor contact. And the problems i mentioned earlier has stoped since my visit over there. Hey I got a free TUne Up from Honda too. So if you guys got a civic with 75,000-100,000 miles, Honda might give you a free tune up if you never got one from them.
