I have been reading the posts about hard to start problems and still no luck. My rodeo takes 5 min sometimes to start, after it starts it will start the rest of the day with no problem. I have changed the fuel pump and the fuel pressure regulator and still the same problem???Now my Check Engine light is on??? Help Please

It could be a lot of things. When you say it doesn't start, does the starter spin but the engine won't run?
The first step would be to find out what codes are stored in the computer and take it from there. Many auto parts stores have code readers you can use to pull the codes. Let us know what the code is and perhaps someone here can help you diagnose the problem. The engine size would help us as well. Dale |

Re: 96 Rodeo Hard to start..Help please...
possible that the injectors are leaking and the fuel is flooding the cylinders causing long crank time after sitting for a long period

P0401 more than likely EGR flow insufficient
it will sometimes stick open and cause long crank time |
