1999 Taurus for parts

Just wondered if anyone is interested in my 1999 Taurus for parts. I was rear-ended and my insurance company is going to total my car I have had it for over 5 years and it has been a great car. I changed the oil regularly every 3000-4000 miles. It's a shame, the car is in great shape in and out other than the rear-end. The front bumper has a crack in it also but could easily be fixed. It has about 87,000 miles on it. The car is in Lower Michigan in the Brighton area (zip 48116). I do not have all of the details yet on how much it will be to buy it back from the insurance co. but I will post what I need for the car as soon as I know, if there is any interest. I should find out within the next couple of days. Just thought I'd ask since the car is in such good shape other that the accident. The only thing I've ever had to do to it is replace the variable speed sensor (VSS) (September 2004) and the front brakes (August 2004). It also has new tires and aftermarket aluminum rims which were put on at 71k miles. I posted some pics, which show the damage. I will post more of the rest of the car soon.

Re: 1999 Taurus for parts

Is it the 12 or 24 valve engine? I would be interested if it 24 valves.

Compressor

Does the Ac Compressor still work? My compresser went on my 97 Taures, and being the fact that I am a sinle mom, I can't run out and buy a new one.

Everything works on the car but I would only sell the whole car, not single parts. Sorry if that was not clear.

I found out what my costs would be from the insurance and would need $1500 for the car.

What problems were you having that you needed to replace this?

My Ac turns off on, but it does not blow cool, I thought maybe it was the freon , but the freon was full, I took it to the auto parts store and they said that the compressor is not kicking on , and I need to replace
it. Also My High Beams will not shut off, I have to disconnect the battery cable every time I turn the car off.

Re: Re: 1999 Taurus for parts

I was having issues with cruise control and the speedometer flaken out and droping to 0 while I was driving. Once the speedometer started flaking out the transmission would not shift. Replaced the VSS and solved these issues.
