Re: looking into a 90 talon tsi

Same here. 90s have some oddball parts, but they are fine. It will have a 3 bolt rear end though so dont go nuts, but at least you get a 6 bolt. For 1300 you cant go wrong, thats what my turbo costs

Re: looking into a 90 talon tsi

There is nothing "bad" about the 90s, it's just that some of the parts are different. Coil pack, TPS, etc. You cant use parts off any 1g in these cases, which can be a pain if youre looking for a used coil pack someday, etc

The 3 bolt rears are a little weaker. You can get a 4 bolt rear with cups for around 400-450. I wouldnt worry about it until you break it. Which may never happen depending on how you drive it. Some people have taken 3 bolts into the 11s, maybe even 10s.

Sounds like a good deal; go for it! Other than a few differences Kevin pointed out, there really isnt something wrong/bad w/ the 90 talons.

Re: looking into a 90 talon tsi

Mod list looks about right. I do remember you, but I Wasnt sure if it was from this site or DSMtuners. The SN was familiar.

Re: looking into a 90 talon tsi

I've never used one, so I'm not really sure. They seem to be louder than stock when I hear them around, but its hard to find out if they are returning or dumping them.

thats a great deal, i would buy it just for a winter car, i have a 90tsi and its been great, my 3bolt is staying strong, and i ran a 12.7 with bad afc settings, it would miss after 5000rpms, the best thing about it is that there are not alot of them around. what turbo are u going to run, i would also get a mbc,afc and a dataloger so u can tune it.
