Sorry, but they are wasting their time,it would seem. The laws have already been passed....the fact that they don't apply until April does not mean that they are still open to debate.

Anyway...if protests made a difference the govt would make them illegal.

I dont agree with this law and cant see any advantage in it but we're stcuk with it unless someone can overthrow the government

credit to moppie for the info - I checked it out on the govt.website,it's a done deal.If they want to lower the road toll they should be a bit tougher on the geriatric fuckwits who are way past holding a licence.

If it's anything like over her, the govt. needs to get it's head out of it's arse and spend more on the roads and driver ed. Less than 50% of road revenue goes back into the roads here

How about improving the roads.

Just to prove a point can anyone think of one positive thing to come out of this law change

Heres another crazy policy I just remembered.

Increasing petrol tax 5c over the whole country to pay for upgrading the Auckland Motorway.

Only like 30% of petrol tax goes towards motoring anyway.

Grr damn north islanders.

Declare sth island independence well keep out resources and you can have all the politicians

damn aucklanders maybe......

a certain Cap'n of ours has taken to making inflammatory statements in his sig about all areas south of the Bombay Hills.....

I reckon we should go up there, liberate FTO girl(better bring moondog as well,he seems o.k.,but if he's not, FTO girl knows how to keep him under control),then skip back over the bombays, blowing up power lines and scattering anti- tank mines as we go.The Aucks will be stuffed if they can't drive down here.......ever see walking shoes for sale in Auckland?

With the Dorklanders safely under control,we will have enough high-quality(Taranaki)dairy export income to live comfortably, and still afford a few hundred coils of razor wire, just to be on the safe side.If we round up all the useless politicians, commodore drivers and breakfast radio hosts,we could drop them over the border into the newly created third-world republic of Auckalofa, thus freeing up even more resources for the rural heroes.
Naturally, there would be democratic free elections for the Presidency of New Improved Zealand, but if anybody else's name appears on the ballot paper,Iwill have them shot to ensure a fair result.

Taranaki for El Presidente!! Viva la Republica!!

Sorry but I am for this rule- I think Jap import cars are mediocre compared to thier NZ New equivalents.

HOWEVER exceptions SHOULD be made for the the performance cars that make this country famous like the NSX, Skyline, Supra, Gen III RX-7 and 300ZX.

I kinda hope they open the flood-gates to used imports from Europe, simply because it would mean MORE PEUGEOTS!!!!!!

what do you mean New Zealand equivalents?

there haven't been any new cars built here for years.

The Govt is trying to say that this law will save lives, what a load of bullshit that is. It's not going to do anything.

oh yeah and how can it be moppies kiwi crew? we don't have a leader we are 100% self governing
