hesitation

when i first start my 97 blazer theres a rough idle and hesitation when i put it in gear, especially when i havent driven it for a few days. also when it reaches the shift points there is a hesitation and feels like it isnt getting enough gass and i have to floor it for it to get enough gas to shift.

Re: hesitation

I assume that you have no codes. You may want to have the fuel pressure checked both Key On Engine Off and Key On Engine Running.

When was the last time you had a complete tune-up?

Re: hesitation

Yes, fuel filter should be changed every 40,000miles.

You are way overdue if it hasn't ever been changed and you are putting a lot of stress on your fuel pump having it push fuel through a clogged filter.

Re: hesitation

well i dont know when the fuel filter was changed last, i got it with 130,000 miles on it, and the person who had it before me was a salesman and took excellent care of everything else, so i dont know if they changed the filter, but thats what my next objective is, to change it

Re: hesitation

Sure, heed this advice with all car purchases.

Always assume the person before you NEVER took any care with the vehicel and do everything to bring the maintanence up to snuff.

Never assume anything was done just because he was a salesman.

Re: hesitation

well i know for a fact that he kept it in good shape with maintanance and the interior, thats partially why i bought it, since it had high miles i made sure it was in good shape, this is the only problem ive had with it.

Re: hesitation

The best way to tell if the fuel filter is bad .
Is to remove it and try to blow threw it and if there is a lot of back pressure its bad. You should be able to blow threw it with ease.
Watch out for the after taste

Re: hesitation
