Speakers
Ok sort of a newbie question but here it goes. i bought a dvd player for my car bad part is that it has no speaker wires just wires for amps cool enough though and got it for a hell of a price. now i am going to put some different speakers and run them through an amp. i was thinking about putting more speakers in but didn't know where to put the for one and what kind to get for two. 3-ways? i am completely lost. i was thinking maybe something for the back since i have a four door but give me some advice on what type and where. It will help out alot.

why not replace all of them, and two or three way depends on how you want them to sound. two way will provide more bass and three way will be more for treble and lyrics.

Re: Speakers
yeah, if i were in your position, i would go with a 4 channel amp, and get 3 way 6*9's for the back, 2 way 6 1/2's for the front and tweeters mounted in your dash, and two 10's in the back with a seperate amp. but im kinda into audio, that might be a bit much for your taste

i was thinking the same thing to a point. but plate speakers in the front and 12's in the trunk. but i will disagree with you on the ponieer. they are good but i never liked them. i have sony explodes on the back now and i don't know what i think of them. But 3ways in the hatch sounds like a plan

Re: Speakers
Wal-mart now also sells Sony Explodes!
Just make sure when you hook up any speaker up to an amplifier that you set the crossover respectively, you don't want the low bass in your 6x9 and tweets, and you don't want the highs to go through your subs. |

Re: Speakers
Most (4-channel) amps have a crossover switch on them…

Re: Speakers
component speakers use systems (bass, mid, treble) to position the different frequency ranges in different area's 4 way speakers have really good high's but they are going to be where ever you put them, if you gfet component speakers you have the luxury of placing tweaters where they would be best used (right side pointing towards driver, left towards passenger) you cross them like this because they will be WAY overbearing if you had a tweeter next to your ear.
