Startup stall...electrical?
Something is going on with my '99 Grand Am GT. It starts up (with a little hesitation), then stalls. When it stalls the power to the radio is cut off and the time automatically resets to 1:00. It usually starts right back up and nothing else appears to be affected.
I have had several electrical problems with this car.recently replaced the alternator but I think this had happened a few times before that....any ideas for things to check? |

Re: Startup stall...electrical?
Check the main ground coming from the battery. The battery lead may be bad and not showing on the outside. Given the fact that the radio resets then that indicates a total loss of power and I would suspect either a bad ground, bad wire or even a bad BCM.
