I need to fix some minor scratches on my 2000 Grand Am, but I can't find the paint number on my car. Could someone plese tell me where it is. Oh and should I just get a paint pen? Thanks.

Re: Paint color code.
I don't know about the paint pen part, but I just went yesterday to find the same thing. On my 96 GA SE its on the underside of the piece that covers my spare tire.

Re: Paint color code.
My 96 has the Service Parts Identification Label on the spare tire cover as well . I believe the color code will be 'u' followed by a combo of numbers/letter(s)

Re: Paint color code.
thats right, the 'u' stands for upper, Three was a book at my local Advanced Auto parts that listed what all the codes stood for.

Re: Paint color code.
im not sure about 2000 GA but if its not where the other guys said it might be then i know that a lot of vehicles have a sticker on the inside of the drivers side door. You could also check there.

Re: Paint color code.
Thanks guys. I checked the driver side door already-it's not there. I'll check the spare tire cover tomorrow...it's 12 am now. Let you know if I find it. Thanks again.
