Engine swap for 95 Firebird

I have a 95 Firebird with trashed 3.4 in it. I bought it back in 2001, so I still owe 3K on it. It's only worth like 4K and that's with a working engine. Would it be worth it to replace the 3.4 with a new LS1? Will it fit? Help!!!

Re: Engine swap for 95 Firebird

Anything is possible but for you to swap engine,Tranny, computer, driveshaft, front K-member and all the other little in and outs. Your going to end up with a car that cost you 5 times the amount and alot of work to boot than it would cost to just trade in your car for a LS1. They have dealer's all over the place(around here anyway). That will take your car any mechanical shape and give you decent trade in value on a Newer more expensive Vehicle. Anyway if you still want to do the swap though I suggest you find a totalled donor car instead of piece by piece. Also welcome to the forum.

if you want, you could rebuild the 3.4 and turbo it. i know most purists will tell you you're a moron, but i've seen some nice work done with these. with a nice turbo and rebuilt internals w/ new cam and heads, you can get 500 hp/torque on 7-10 pounds of boost. my one friend is doing the swap in his camaro, his cardomain site is http://www.cardomain.com/member_page...page_id=288292 if you're interested in taking a look at it. well whatever you do, enjoy
