Stereo Noises
Hey I am new to this forum. I have a 98 GTP and the stereo (stock) will start making strange beeping noises I have no clue on what this could be it has happened a few times now and it seems to happen at random. Thank you for your help.

Ok it hasnt made the beeping noise at all for the last few days but its latest trick is the volume will start to turn itself up to max volume for no apparent reason. I have heard of cars that turn the radio up as the speed increases but this is a bit extreme if anybody has had this problem or knows what is going on your input would be greatly appreciated.

stereo controls on steering wheel
The stereo is still controlling itself but I think it may have something to do with the stereo controls on the steering wheel because it seems to go nuts when the wheel is turned even the slightest bit. any help with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

We have a gal in my local ClubGP with the same problem on her '97 GTP. I'll see if she ever got it fixed.

I had stereo noises of a different type. It was more like a whine coming through the radio. Pontiac said this was due to the defroster in the rear window. They replaced the entire rear window.
