Day time running lights
I have a Canadian car with the daytime headlights. Just wondering if there was supposed to be a shut off for them when you put the emergency brake on. Mine stay on and I'd like them to be off as I'll be sleeping in the car with the motor running a lot.

All cars are different. What make/model/year is your car?

Re: Day time running lights
I have a 92 Caravan with the 4 cyl and standard transmission. I know that my 99 GMC pickup's lights shut off when I put on the emergency.

Re: Re: Day time running lights
My 97 Achieva and 99 Shillouette both have the same thing, when you put the break on, the lights go off, however, they both have an override switch too. If the switch is on, it doesn't matter if the e-break is off or on the lights will be on. The other option is, if you've found the switch and it's "off", it could have shorted inside. My 88 caravan's light switch control knob once shorted inside and had itself a little fire. Nothing bad, but the interior lights wouldn't turn off, ever. I just picked one of from a local recker and it was easy enough to replace.
Good luck |

Re: Day time running lights
I just need to find out if there's a switch I guess. Don't know where I'd look.
