Racing Seats And Harnesses (HELP!)

Hello everybody i got a question...im intrested in putting racing seats and 4 point bolt in sparco harnesses in my 96 z24 but i have been hearing bad things such as if you dont attach the harnesses to a roll cage you can break your spine...ive asked some friends what they think and the words "kill" and "die" come up quite a bit...dont get me wrong i have every intention of putting them in right and doing what ever i can to make them as safe as possible but i just wanted a few more opinions thanks a lot. id like to hear from ya espically if you have a pair of seats and harnesses thanks again

ps. i was planning to bolt the harnesse to where the seat belts in the front are currently at and the shoulder part would bolt to where the seat were bolted under the rear seat (i took mine out and removed the rear belts)

Re: Racing Seats And Harnesses (HELP!)

Well... i'm not sure where to start in order for you to under stand this... yes there are risks for improper installations for everything... like if your running Nitrous Oxide and you don't have proper fuel pressure, you run lean in the cylander and melt your plugs...but in this case you do not have to worry about things that major.... and your friends are noobs... you don't have to mount them to a roll cage... i have seen many different ways of mounting them.. its really just a custom choice but you need to make sure there mounted to a soild place.. i have seen them mounted from a bar running along the floor in the back seat... from roll cages, commin from all the way in the backseat... but i hope you are sensable and don't drive like a 16yr old that just got his license..
