Power Window Motor
I got the door panel off and all but im havin trouble removing the bolts for the motor. The Haynes repair manual says a socket should work but those look like pop rivets to me any ideas on how to get em off? Drivin wout the door panel is real annoying.

Re: Power Window Motor
You are absolutely correct! They are pop rivets and you need to drill them out. Upon reinstallation, you will have to use 1/4" bolts with the NUT on the inside.
To remove the pop rivets, use a quarter inch drill and drill them out. |

Re: Power Window Motor
Is that like a power drill that you would use to drill holes or a battery operated one i know it sounds dumb but im puzzled

Re: Power Window Motor
Use any type of drill you like its the bit size that matters. I always start with 1/8 drill bit then move up in size if you need to.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU DO WHAT Mikado14 SAID ABOUT THE BOLTS ARE YOU WILL BE SORRY. |

Re: Power Window Motor
Ok i had this link for awhile http://www.usedpartscentral.com/tech/page1.htm
and it was also posted a couple of days ago with the new motor do i need to get bolts for the regulator or do they come with it? I saw some last week that came with it and some that did not plus is there going to be rivets on that too or screws/bolts? On this site theres bolts but it could be different. Going to make an attempt since driving 1/45 (one window 45 mph not cool) is pain
