Top Speed 228.5 kph / 142.0 mph
0 - 60 mph 6.1 seconds
0 - ¼ mile 15.0 seconds
0 - 100 mph 17.0 seconds

I believe those are the figures.

Jimmy:

The RS2000 wasn't front-wheel drive and had more power than 150hp. I'm also sure that it did 0-60 in well under 8 seconds...WELL under.

If you look at the one you provided in your link, and the one that I provided in mine, they are two different types of RS2000's. The one I posted is the one he was referring to.

well the link you provided is not an rs 2000

it's actually a Ford RS 200

that's a totally different car...

and yes the rs 200 is way faster....

Mr. rallycross Martin Schanche drove one with 641 bhp

0-100 kmh in 2.5 seconds

that's 100 km in 34 meters
http://www.rally.no/rs200.html

faster than a Mclaren

The one I was looking for is the first link posted, so DYMEIFHJ(D??'s one.

Neat car anyway.

The RS200 that Jimmy is referring to must simply be a real modified version of the RS2000.

Right?

Yes the one i'm refering to is modified

The rs 200 that I referd to is the top of the notch!

It was so fast that they had problems with the tires, the rubber got twisted of the wheels. Mr rallycross modified it with own custom made parts, so it could withstand the power from the engine. parts from airplane's and such were used. It was up for sale some time ago, and i belive the price was 1,5 mill NOK. that's 3 times the original price tag when it came out in 85 or so.

And the question to the topic was about the Rs 2000, and I belive the figures I posted about the Rs 2000 is correct. And the figures you posted about the Rs 2000 is the correct once for the original road version of the Rs 200.

Thanks guys!

I got what I wanted and then some.

I didn't know that there was an Escort tagged with the name RS 2000.

We'll have to specify then if ever it comes up again

Check out the links below for more on the Ford RS cars

www.RSOC.co.uk
www.RS2000-16V.com

The RS200 was built to compete in the Group B Rally Series until the Group B cars were banned from competition. Used a mid mounted Cosworth engine and wasn't based on the Escort. The RS2000 on the other hand was based on the escort and Jimmy is correct with his figures
