Races after work

Alright I was cruising along I-95 going back to UMD at College Park after I got off work last night. I was going a steady 80-85 when this white 95-99 maxima gets right on my ass stays there for a few seconds and then swerves over and guns it in the middle lane. He was pretty far ahead of me when I decided to chase him down since he had to be a dick and get within inches of my bumper for no reason. Any way I pull him in and we're going side by side at around 80 when a newer civic flies by us in the right lane. He drops down to fourth and so do I and I pull about a car on him within a couple seconds. I shift at 5000 rpms into fifth at about 110-115 and pull another half a car on him, before I shut down due to upcoming traffic at around 120ish or so. We both reeled in and passed the civic with ease. I get over in the middle lane and the max. decides again to ride within inches of my bumper so again i drop into fourth and leave him behind me until we each went different ways on the 495 split.

My mods: 2000 eclipse Fed. spec. GT 5spd
AEM short ram intake
ractive muffler
B&M short shifter
kyb/agx shocks/struts
Eibach sportline springs
ST rear sway bar

Maxima: appeared to be stock

Cliff notes:

cruising along at 80. maxima is a dick and rides my ass within inches of bumper.
catch up to him and we both drop to fourth at 80.
pull a car on him and shift at 5000 rpm to fifth and put another half car on him.
rides my ass again so i drop to fourth and leave him behind.

Re: Races after work

the civic looked stock as well. It didn't have a huge muffler on the back of it, that's all I could tell from the outside. I didn't really pay alot of attention to it after me and the max. hit it and we flew by the civic pretty quickly. The civic caught up to us later when we split at the fork.

Good kill, I hate people riding my bumper. I normally give a quick test of the other pedal. Normally makes them back off.

Re: Races after work

I didn't feel like this was a good time to brake check. If I would have so much as took my foot off the gas he would have slammed into the back of me.

Re: Races after work

You're lucky there were no cops. Getting a ticket at 120 would not have been good. Otherwise, nice kill.

Re: Races after work

I agree. That's actually only the second time i've reached 120, the first time I just wanted to top out fourth gear. There aren't many cops on 95 from what i've seen so I wasn't really too worried about them. But I dont usually like to go that fast.
