swappin obd2 obd1
alright so i have a 93 civic cx. with the tiny d15 in it. well that motor happens to run like shit... overheats and such. it has over 150 thousand miles so im getting rid of it. im lookin to buy this d16. not sure exactly what the block number is but i know its a d16 outta a 99 civic coupe. so this new motor runs an OBD2 and my old motor runs an OBD1. how would i go about hookin up this new motor. would i need to buy an OBD2 ecu? i have been reading about OBD2 to OBD1 conversion harnesses. would i be able to invest in one of those bad boys and work my new motor? if anyone knows how i would go about pulling this little job off i would greatly appreciate some help. thnx

Re: swappin obd2 obd1
You should get a d16z6 from a 5th gen. They are obd 1, cheap, and good power for what you can expect for 5 or 6 hundred dollars.

Read the 6th post down, what needs to be converted is covered starting where it says "Method number one:" in bold. |
