SuperCharger vs Turbo

Someone was telling me today that a supercharger is cheaper, maintnance wise. Im definitely showing my newbie colors here. But are there superchargers for 01 eclipses and do they produce as much power and stuff as a turbo would?

And what really is the difference between the two?

Re: SuperCharger vs Turbo

Check up on the subject, and do your research sence your spending alot of money. If you get a turbo get one that your engine can handle, to much and you have to do some engine mod which will add to the price. aftermarket engine parts are not cheat as you know. I had to spend extra on my engine which cost me alot. as you can tell i perfer turbo over supercharger, I love my turbocharged 2003 Eclipse GTS

Re: SuperCharger vs Turbo

if you supercharge your engine has to come out of its home, if you turbo you can leave it in, turbos feel better in my opinion, superchargers are more of a domestic thing than a import thing, but seeing how we really aren't either it gets tricky, turbo for ease of it though definitely
