B16B

But yes your on the right track at least.
Swapping a B16a2 is a great idea, and throwing a supercharger or turbo ontop is an even better idea. Jackson racing, Rev Hard, Vortech all good names. Better start saving !!

Put the 5k in savings and get a K20A when you get the rest of the money together.

Re: want something new for my civic

Cant view it at work but I am sure I saw it.. I have 9 sec civic videos we all kno its possible to be fast but its a waste of money..K20 will come down in price just like b series engines. But coming across a K is hard plus the parts needed to do the swap are just too many. A friend of mine had it on his 01 civic boosted and blew the head. 14 grand he spent on that engine. But overall you cant compare and EVO to a civic.

i have thought about the b16b it is a great engine and very high revving which is also very good i have not thought about the k20 mostly due to not knowing where to find motor mounts for a 99 ex plus there is still very few aftermarket go fast parts plus lots of custom work im thinking custom axles and shift linkage which i have not seen anywhere nor have a have heard it being done to a older civic yet i dont want to lose my power steering and my air conditioning due to harsh north dakota winters and we all know snow and no power steering is bad

HASport makes an entire mount kit and everything needed for K20 swap into an EK.... hmotorsonline is selling the swaps going for 5,500

Aftermarket for the K20 is still developing... but companies are leaving the B-series behind and developing almost entirely for the K20 now....
Here's a good quote "K... It's the NEW B"

It's what I'll be getting after I'm tired with/ bored of my d-series.

Re: want something new for my civic

Yeah, a b16a2 with a vortech supercharger will put your car in the low 13s if you know how to drive and 4.5s in 0-60 mph acceleration.

Be prepared for porsche carrera and bmw m3 competition.

I welcome M3 and porsche challenges i think it would be a lot of fun againg i feel that with the k20 i would lose my valueable power steerimg which sucks due to me only having my civic right now due to all the money i have going into it and i dont have a chance to buy a winter car for the north dakota winters

plus how well would the k20 mount being that the exhaust manifold is on the back of the engine i do believe but dont quote me on that i have had very little experience with the new k series engine and would the 6 speed tranny pose a problem?

power steering yes does rob valueable power i can understand it not being needed where it is warm but up here in north dakota winters suck and its a 20 mile drive into town with a 30mph crosswind trying to blow the car off the icy winter road thats were it comes in handy

I have a 98 EX with power steering, and my 97 DX without.... the EX feels wobbly on the road... where as my DX without power steering feels much more stable... as have all cars I've owned without power steering.
Have you ever driven without it? I believe my car without it handles better under all conditions than my car with... unless you're sitting in a parking lot... no power steering at a stand still does kind of suck... but it's a good work out builds ya muscles.
