Any known trunk leak problems? 99

have a 99 ultra for a year. can't seem to fix trunk leak around rear most lower weatherstrip area. water getting under the weatherstrip in 2 places about 10" right and left from the center hold down loop. previos owner has caulked everything including under the weather strip to no avail. trunk looks aligned, compared to my 00. just hoping it is a a known issue with a fix? it leaks enough after one trip in the rain to form a puddle in the spare tire area, just keep soaking it up for now.

Also you might try checking the fender wells for a hole. I have a 1993 and when I got it it leaked in the spare tire well badly, and I looked under the carpet and there was a hole about 3 inches across and about 4 inches long. Every time I would drive it in the rain, the water from the tire would fly up and into the hole and it quickly accumulates. Fixed it with plastic, bodyputty and bondo.. then 2 cans of undercoating spray. I did not want any recurrence. ANY little hole will let in quite a bit of water over a very short time.

my 92 lesabre has a hole in its fender well and it gets the backseats wet from water splashing out of the spare tire well.

Trunk Leak

I am on my third Park Avenue and everyone had a trunk that leaked.
Two different 96's and now a 2000.
I have never been able to permanently solve the problem so yes, I would say this is a known problem.

I also had leaking from around the left rear tail light housing. Using silicone sealant/glue really helps.

we'll, the car got hit a few weeks ago, and I asked the body shop to look into it for me, whil it was there (got hit in the front). He put a guy IN the trunk and started spraying water. Found it in a jiff, fixed with silicon. Yeahhhhhh
