Re: Replace or rebuild?

You may wish to consider buying a replacement Jeep. If it truly needs a rebuild, reman blocks go for $1000-$1500 plus labor to replace the engine (depending on your engine).

i found inline 6 cyl. 4.0 complete rebuild kits for around 4-500$. now that is the kit if you are going to do it yourself. if you have any friends that know how to do major repairs or any other connections you're set. labor is gonna be insane with something like this. you're better off getting a new jeep or looking around for a salvaged engine for low cost, again it'd only be worth it if you or some one you knew put it in. i've had my jeep for about 3 months now and i've spent A LOT of time working on it. and this is the first time ever working on an american engine for me. or an suv at all. it all depends on how much you love you're jeep. you can make it happen. just use all you're resourses. jeep dealerships will often have repair centers that is a great way to get free advise. autozone.com has pretty fair prices, and pretty good advise as long as you don't get some retard who's dad is the manager. either way just decide whether you really want to bring it back to life or you'd like to start over. also what year is it and what would you being doing with it if you decide to get something else?
