Burning smell -1998 camry
Hi,
I have brakes pads and rotors changes 3 months back. for last 3 days whenever i drive the car for 15-20 minutes, i can smell the burning smell from around the front tires. it is so prominent that we can smell it inside the car. also when i press brake on high speed i can hear loud noise near the right front end of the car. what can be the possible issue? Thanks --rubs |

Re: Burning smell -1998 camry
Might be your pads are not releasing and are jammed against the rotors. Wouldn't take much pressure to heat them up alot - ruin them.

Re: Re: Burning smell -1998 camry
I went to the mechanic yesterday and he told me that this is due to fauly calipers and changed both the front calipers for 400$. now he change all pads, rotors and calipers and i really feel ripped off since he charged me 140$ for 1 caliper as compare to same caliper that is available in store for 55$(bendix). and for some reason i still have burning smell and he told me that since it is new brake caliper, rotor so smell will come for 1-2 week. i hope he is telling the truth this time.
