Burning smell -1998 camry

Hi,

I have brakes pads and rotors changes 3 months back. for last 3 days whenever i drive the car for 15-20 minutes, i can smell the burning smell from around the front tires. it is so prominent that we can smell it inside the car. also when i press brake on high speed i can hear loud noise near the right front end of the car. what can be the possible issue?

Thanks

Might be your pads are not releasing and are jammed against the rotors. Wouldn't take much pressure to heat them up alot - ruin them.

Re: Re: Burning smell -1998 camry

I went to the mechanic yesterday and he told me that this is due to fauly calipers and changed both the front calipers for 400$. now he change all pads, rotors and calipers and i really feel ripped off since he charged me 140$ for 1 caliper as compare to same caliper that is available in store for 55$(bendix). and for some reason i still have burning smell and he told me that since it is new brake caliper, rotor so smell will come for 1-2 week. i hope he is telling the truth this time.

Thanks
