Transmission diagnosis help wanted

Just bought my 2nd '94 PA Ultra back East to serve as a donor for a power unit swap. Halfway across Missouri, I drove into Columbia to pick up some maps, and the trans "lurched" a bit when downshifting as I was stopping for a light. Up to then everything was normal, but afterwards, had nothing in "D", had 2nd? in "3" and "2" and no reverse. Drove it (slowly) the 100 miles to Independence, and just had it trucked to California. BtW, the AAA tow that brought it to KC, totaled it for me by dropping it off the truck, so I don't have to feel badly about parting it out!

Can't easily get it to a shop for a read/diagnosis, what likely broke? Major internal? solenoid setup? computer? fluid clean, full, OK smell. I'm retired from closing my shop after 40 years of wrenching, but experience is mainly in imports. Thanx, Jarl

Sounds like the tranny went on ya, could be a ECM issue, but most likely the Trans is shot.
