Exclamation Fellow Europeans, we the people of Ireland need your help!

Quote:
On 1st February 2002 NTL Ireland removed Eurosport from the cable television system in Dublin, Galway and Waterford and replaced it with CNBC. We believe very strongly that NTL should restore Eurosport. Why? Well, read on.

Eurosport was the only sport channel on NTL's basic cable package, so by removing it NTL are forcing sports fans to pay extra for their premium cable services.

NTL has a de facto monopoly in the cable television service market in Dublin. Removal of the only sports channel in its basic package is an abuse of this position.

In 1999 NTL acquired the cable system by buying CableLink. At that time there was a great deal made (by NTL) of how it was going to upgrade the system to provide many more TV channels, telephone service, and high speed internet access. What has actually happened is that the upgrade program has been abandoned, NTL's prices have been increased significantly, and now the basic television service is being downgraded by removing the only sport channel.

Eurosport provides extensive coverage of cycling, motorcycling, motor racing, tennis, skiing and world soccer. No other sport channel provides the same level of coverage of these sports, so even subscribing to NTL's sports package will not get them back for you.

NTL claim that the reason for replacing Eurosport was that the number of viewers was very small, but they refuse to publish figures for all their channels so that we can see what they're talking about. Suspicious or what?
Basically, half the country has no Eurosport That means no Winter Olympics, no WRC, no Tour de France this year etc.
Help us out, sign the online petition!
Thanks for reading and TIA if you sign the petition.

OK done

I cannot think what I should do without my dose of WRC on Eurosport
Here in Holland they have programm called Rally Report
but they show that 2 weeks after the WRC has been driven.
By then I allready know who won

Depend on your cable company. If you have NTL, I'd expect trouble soon
