Question Excessive Vibration Or Normal?

I just recently purchased another Ford Escort Wagon. It is a1997 with only 48k miles,a one owner car(older person). It runs great except the hood rattles and if I push it down with my hand on it it stops. It seems the vibration from the engine is causing it.Does anyones Escort do this?I just had it inspected and it passed with no problem. The hood is not damaged in any way .

Re: Excessive Vibration Or Normal?

sounds maybe like something you could cure with a latch adjustment or perhaps the little rubber bumpers on the inside of the fenders where the front corners of the hood rest....it's very common for little "rattles" and "squeaks" to develope over time...it doesn't sound like anything serious...
