1999 cavalier hard starting when engine is hot?

I tried a search 1st,couldn't find a problem exactly like this one. 1999 cavalier 2.2 automatic. engine starts fine when it is not up to operating temp.,like the 1st start of the day or if is has been sitting awhile. when the engine is warmed up, and is restarted,it takes about 8 seconds to start. it is turning over fine during this time, not dragging or turning over slow. thanks for any suggestions!!!....Ben

Don't laugh at me because I'm female, I just may be able to solve your problem. Check the TCC valve... been there done that! If not this then other possible problems... MAP sensor, bad plugs or wires, etc...

If TCC valve symptoms are, Car starts without any delays when cold, once reaches operating temperatures may stall when slowing to a stop, if stalls then wont start until cooled again, when first noticed TCC valve going bad, car would start when warm but with a delay, problem progressed to symptoms previously explained. Good Luck!

Strangers are friends we've yet to meet!
