code 8

does anyone know what code 8 means. i believe its got to do with the dizzy . the light blinks 8 times in a row. it did it over 20 times. so i am guesing it is a code 8 lol

Start with the second link, click on either:

PGM-FI Control System (TDC/CRANK Sensor) - STD/DX Only or

PGM-FI Control System (TDC/CRANK Sensor) - Si and HF Only

and follow along with the chart. These pages are for a CRX but the mechanics are similar/identical.

you'll need a voltimeter to check the ohms through a plug outside of the dist. if you're getting nothing, that means the pick-ups inside the dist have a broken connection somewhere. it'll need replacement. also the stock pick-ups are VERY brittle.

well i changed the cap and rotor and it ran for 30 seconds with some grinding noises. i took the cap off and the tabs were chewed up. so the coil is fine(i think). i think it has something to do with the shaft.. thanks
