Trouble With Roof Rack Cross Bar
One of the cross bars to my roof rack has a button that is depressed & it won't depress! Does anyone have ideas on how to fix this, or do I need a new cross bar? Every time I take my Jeep through the car wash I have to bring the one cross bar back into alignment, it just won't 'click' into place!

Re: Trouble With Roof Rack Cross Bar
does it feel like the spring inside is no longer there? or does it seem like it might be clogged with debris and could use a thorough cleaning?
If you can take it off, inspect it and maybe try cleaning it out? Just a suggestion. |

It does feel like the spring is no longer there. I'll try to pry it out to get a better look.

Re: Trouble With Roof Rack Cross Bar
try a little liquid wrench. just a little. use the straw and spray aruond the button. keep a rag handy and clean up any over spray. don't get it on paint. wipe with wet rag if you do. if it's jammed this might release it.

Re: Trouble With Roof Rack Cross Bar
I tried spraying some lube around the button on my crossbar & when I checked it the next day, it finally clicked into place! I guess the button did get jammed up.
Thanks for the input |
