Question Brake Warning Light - 99 Blazer

I did a search and came up empty handed so here goes . . .

I recently replaced my rear brake pads and now my (!)(P) BRAKE warning light is always on. The only thing I did to the parking brake was adjust it and lubricate the cable near the rear.

I've checked my brake fluid level and tried disconnecting the battery to reset the system but it's still on.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Mine too! Same thing - I had all the brake pads and drums replaced, master cylinder replaced and brakes bled twice! Stupid light still won't go out! Could it be the cable?

Re: Brake Warning Light - 99 Blazer

Check the cable switch at or near the top of your park break cable( e brake) to some. Adjusting your cable will affect the travel limit and will affect your switch. Also try to take your hand and pull the e-brake pedal back towards the rear of the truck and see if the light goes out. If so adjust your switch. Keep us posted. It's always nice to know if our tips helps you, so we might be able to help other people with them. If it doesn't help, we need to find what will, so we can give good advice on all matters in which we offer help. After all it is
free advice. I would just like to see people post positive or negative results. This way we can explore other posiblities and give better tips.
Thanks
