Well instead of jumping on the "JDM" bandwaggon you could spend all that cash on engine upgrades.

Get the normal I/H/E.

As far as apperance upgrades go get some nice rims, they can realy make or brake a car.

P.s. Fuck projector HL's.

Re: 92 Prelude si Need sum tips for a beginner

i say just build the engine up w/ some money, is it VTEC? if so then get some cams, and cam gears I/H/E new clutch, and flywheel, and get a new shifter, forget the tail lights, and headlights, just get some rims and keep it cleen, like new paint and shit......

i would say save up for a vtec engine swap or buy a vtec head and make it a frankenstein. The latter being the most difficult but probably will come out cheaper if you can find someone to work on it that knows what they are doing. You can get a head for $200 as opposed to buying an engine swap for $2000. I wouldn't put any appearance upgrades on it until i had engine work done. But thats just me and my opinion. Id rather have a fast car than a fast looking car. Make it fast...then make it look fast.

Thanx for the help no its not a v-tec but my father and most of his friend are mechanics so the labor isnt a problem just gotta worry about the cash flow. Only thing that sucks is the car is automatic but im planning on changing that eventually.

Re: 92 Prelude si Need sum tips for a beginner

What I personally did when I got my '92 Si:

*got it lowered
*put some 17 in rims on it
*cold air intake
*catback exhaust
*swapped tranny for a vtec tranny
*did a little interior tweaking (accented with red)
*JDM fenders (not by choice, hit & run forced me to get new fenders)
*clear bumper lights and corners

And now 2.5 yrs later, I am getting ready to upgrade the engine. YaY!!! Why 2 years you ask? I built a '91 Civic HB up and lost focus on the Lude. I just recently sold the HB and now I am getting back into my lude.

when did you take that pic T-Mo? I wish gas were $1.75 lol...it is $1.98 for regular where i live and i thought that was pretty cheap compared to most places lol

like i said earlier just look on ebay for a vtec head...you'll need to get a new ecu but you can get one for about $180-$220 on ebay. alot of 4th gen ludes were prewired for vtec...you can look at your ecu to find this out....just read this forum by AcesHigh to see what you are looking for...he also posted pics so its very simple http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t211027.html
that will also tell you most everything you need to do to get vtec working...and if interested i have a vtec manual tranny im about to sell.

vtec has 200 and you should get a little more than that....really just depends.....ive heard some ppl dyno anywhere from 205 -215 after doing it but i dont have much experience doing it myself...i do know you'll have alot better compression...better use a higher octane gas b/c of the higher compression ratio...and while you have the head apart id advise throwing in some stage 1 cams and cam gears, valves, valves springs, maybe some pulleys and such things as those. But if you have the money just drop a h22a vtec in it and be done w/ it...alot easier and alot safer

those pics are a few months old. I think that we were leaving on our way to a Honda-tech meet in Alabama. Gas prices right now is $1.92 for reg. meaning my Lude has to use Premium which is at $2.12

It all depends on your attempt at the build. Some say that the Hybrid is poor because Of bad Idle and others say it's the end all frankestein.

The only HP you gain is from VTEC pull.
Switching to H22 head just gives you a little more tuning options. Remember HP beyond 200 on the H23/H22 get expensive.

No it doesn't unless it's a JDM H22a swap.

Stock H22A1 is 190.
