Fightin Irish??

Hey guys ,

Just wondering, if you know of any street racing going on in Dublin, Im new to the scene and would really love to get more involved. I know theres not much racing in Dublin City lets face it you might as well walk into the police station with a sign sayin "I did it" , although that can be the best part some times tryin not to get caught!! Is there any even around Dublin??

Can u fill me in???

Thx
Sylv-E

Welcome to AF/PH. Don't know much about the street racing scene in Dublin. Their seems to be a big boom in street racers after the F&F .

Yep the same here in Holland
Before F&F was released I didn't see (or hear )that much tuned cars
But after they just kept on showing up on the local streets.

And recently there have been gatherings here in my hometown
of people who show off their ride and race a little (I go there sometimes with AccordCE8)

But F&F really became a statement in the car/movie industry.

Are you from Dublin?
I have never heard of any street races being organised in Ireland. But with the amount of cars getting NOS fitted, it may not be that far away Actually, myself and 00'Civic SR seen a 1.3 Civic with 50bhp of NOS fitted - that can't be good for the engine!
I can't see the Guards or Judges having much time for people caught, given the fact that the pull people for the smallest of reasons

Thanks for the welcome guys!!

When I say Im new to the scene I mean as in two or three years, I presume you guys are all much more experienced than me. Spesh since bein a girl in Dublin liking cars its hard to get taken as serious (not the way it should be but it happens)

00'CivicSR FYI, Dublin used to have the best Street Racing Scene before F&F (actually up to about 6 mnths ago) nuthin to fancy, but you dont need the streets of LA when you got the Wicklow mountains, much more of a rush!!
Anyway its died now, and I stopped racing (other than in mondello that is). Wanted to see whats out there now.

Anyways Im not to good with the technical (hence why i decided to give this board a look-in) but give me fast car, and Im gone!!

You guys into the mecanics more than the speed??

Never been to Mondello to drive, I usually go for the races. Last time I was there, was for the BTCC. Not sure if it's happening again this year.

What kinda car you buying on Saturday?

Been up to Mondello twice racing Formula V's on corporate days, bloody great fun. Never managed to get my own car on the track, well never more than the bit of track crossing into the paddock

As for street racing, I do have a very heavy right foot and drive most of the time on the limit, but street racing in Dublin, or any where else as highly populated wouldnt really be my thing, our roads arent up to it and there is too many cops around anyway.
