Prisma are good, except they are expensive and run out fast.

wow just gave a metalic ones a try thouse things are just out of this world.
They have a real metal texture.
the shame is that they are small and will run out like in 3 drawings. (i think)
but other than that they even have a small chips in them just like a real paint.

Re: markers some one ? (best choice for beginer)

prismas are good for the "beginner." try to use them all, though. chartpak ad markers are not for beginner. use everything and every possible means to create the drawing. i am not loyal to any one brand because each has characteristics the other does not.

in general, all markers run out quickly, as this is planned and deliberate. markers from the 1970s and 1980s still work today, as i have some. as the years went on, the companies decided to 'devolve' and instead focus on volume selling and greed. and since they all have gone this way, as i buy them all, there is nowhere to turn other than to them.

if there was a way i could send a mail bomb with dog sh*t in it to all of them, i would, but instead i will just keep drawing with their products and mind my own business.

Re: Re: markers some one ? (best choice for beginer)

I would start with prismacolors. I also recommend Letra set markers< real good.

Ad Marker bleed a bit but blend nicely.

I just resently bought a 72 pack of Prismacolors Still haven't gotten the time to use everyone of them. But seriously Letra Set markers are good in my honest opinion.

Im trying to get my hands on some Copic markers

Well Prisma is all good... but i like TRIA's.... when they run out of inky-ness.. you can refill them... and they have 3 sized tips on one marker. http://www.currys.com/markers/prodin...D=350&catID=26

good stuff....

Re: markers some one ? (best choice for beginer)

I have some Prismas which I bought when replacing my Designs. I wasn't aware that Eberhard-Faber was bought out by Sanford (Rubbermaid), Prisma brand was continued and they axed Designs. I still have quite a batch of the Design markers, they're awesome for comic book style illustration.

Any sort of good marker (Prismacolor included) will do the job.
TRIA markers are a favorite of mine, because they have really nice tips, and they're refillable!
It looks like you've got alot to work with!! You'll do yourself a service if you are able ti use them on a decent marker paper- they'll last 10 times as long!!
