01 Jgc Fuel Pressure Problems

i took my fuel pressure and got a low reading of about 25...i keep getting a code of p 171 and 174, which tell me my air/fuel mix is too lean.... what does this mean and what do i need to fix this problem... please help

ok, is ur CHECK ENGINE LIGHT on all the time.

what lean mixture means, is the Engine has too much air and not enough fuel. are u expierence poor Performance?

very poor performance... usually takes about 10 tries to actually start the vehicle... feels as if not enough gas is getting to start the car..once on starts havin all types of problems, starts shaking, idles real low almost about to turn off...

I would inspect the fuel line and make sure it isn't crimped. the only other thing I can think of is changing the fuel pump. I would also inspect the filter while you have the tank down.

yea I agree with Myrtle, b4 you do that, have the Fuel pressure tested. engine running lean shoudln't affect the startup pf the jeep, but it would affect the running of the jeep. the O2 Sensor(s) measures the fuel/Air mixture, but it does not activate till it is up to normal operating temp, b4 that the PCM is running the FUEL PUMP in an open loop. supplying fuel depending on the TPS signal, after it warms up the PCM gets signal from the O2 sensor(s) and the TPS to determine the amou8nt of fuel to be delivered,

here are a couple things to do, take your O2 sensor out and clean it with some Brake Parts Cleaner, get the Fuel pressure tested.

HI, IF YOU HAVE 25 LBS. OF FUEL PRESSURE. YOU EITHER HAVE A BAD FUEL FILTER OR THE FUEL PUMP IS GOING BAD. DALE
