I need major help????????????????? 1999 Maxima

I have a problem because one of my family members wont let me have their car until i kno how to start it. Well first off it a 99 maxima manual transmission and i know you have to push the clutch down put it in nuetral and then start but the starter wont even click. There is a lock button to take the key out. There has to be a trick in the 99 maximas if anyone knows of it please tell me.?????????????????

Maybe they're playing a trick on you and have disconnected the battery. Do the lights turn on?

are you holding the clutch in? get the owners manual out and read it, it will give a lot of good info for once you have it, then buy a repair manual, learn it, if you don't do car work at least you will have an idea what the machanic is talking about

yeah dude....sounds like they may be playing a trick on you. make sure the clutch is FULLY depressed and look for any switches under the dash or anywhere. cars dont come with tricks to start straight from the factory so they added something or the battery is dead. good luck.

my big bro has a 97 maxima and hes never had this problem before . that lil botton on the side is only to relase the key, it might just be that theres somethin wrong with the starter?
