My 1995 Pontiac Transport

Well I love my transport 95 It's only had two owners my uncle and I and it runs really well, I'm over 350000 on it and it runs, not well but it runs.
My list of problems I would like to try fix in order:

1. Wipers stop working and I've read the Wiperfix.htm for the suburban but I don't know where this circuit board is on my van. I don't see where the assembly is with the 3 screws, but I'm sure if someone pin pointed it to me I would be able to do the fix.

2. The noise that I get when I decellerate either to a stop or from 70km to 60 km range, it started out as a tapping noise but has increased in sound by at least 60% almost sounds like a knocking, and sometimes feels like it's shaking, suggestions so far is that it's a bushing for the strut that is worn out and that is what is making the noise. Put up with the noise till you can afford to change it. Is the only suggestion to date so far.

3. Oil Leak, I've tightened all the bolts on my pan and replaced plastic plug cap and still oil under the van in the morning.

4. Funny noises when at a stand still or slow moving when turning, the Power steering fluid is full. (possible rack and pinion problem?)

5. ABS light is always on. LOL I know I know who needs it right.. it's just a light some tell me but if I have abs I want it working.

6. Parking brake I don't think is working, the light comes on when pushed in but I don't think it's really working, how do I know and can I replace this?

7. Next year I am taking the van for our vacation and I would like to fix cruise control, and suggestions on a cheap fix or is it just better to take it in to fix?

Re: My 1995 Pontiac Transport

?!?!...Had posted a reply...no see??? This time,I have kept a WORD copy...
1. Wiper motor : at the end of the wiper drive rods, on the passenger side, way up in the engine compartment, look closely up there..there it is www.avigex.ca/xport/wiper1 www.avigex.ca/xport/wiper2

2. The noise that started out as a tapping noise but has increased.. sounds like a knocking. ......! Reminds me of my inner tie rod ends...had to remove the rack and pinion to get that. I hope it is something else.

3. Oil Leak,??

4. Funny noises when at a stand still or slow moving when turning, ...???Kling – klong (ball joint) or buzz-buzzz (power steering pump –this noise is annoying but will last a long time anyway) ?

5. ABS light is always on. Hard choice: REMOVE THE BULB or endure

6. Parking brake : CABLES...

7. cruise control: this one is entirely controlled by the computer. Needs vacuum for operation. Check hoses . Can be prevented from working by brake light switch not returning entirely to release position.

Re: My 1995 Pontiac Transport

3. Oil Leak, I've tightened all the bolts on my pan and replaced plastic plug cap and still oil under the van in the morning.

Mine was leaking oil and I thought it was my oil pan, it actually was the timing cover leaking and dripping down onto the oil pan. It was more than I wanted to handle so I took it in. Cost to fix was $425

5. ABS light is always on. LOL I know I know who needs it right.. it's just a light some tell me but if I have abs I want it working.

A quick fix is to jack your van up and disconnect each ABS wheel sensor from its harness. Use some spray electrical contact cleaner and clean both connections. (sensor and harness) Before reconnecting, squeeze a bit of di-electric tune up grease into the harness and then reconnect. My ABS lights used to come on intermittently and then a friend told what I just explained to you. My lights haven't come on since I cleaned each connection and lubed with the di-electric grease.

Hope this helps
