No injector pulse TBI

I pulled the old 4.3 and put a 5.0 from a '92 Camaro into our '88 C-1500 PU. There was no spark or injector pulses when it was time for start up.
We replaced the ignition module in the distributor, but had no spark still. The white wire from the distributor to coil was hot all the time we had the key in the 'on' position.
We changed the pickup coil and now have a spark out of the coil. But the white wire still is on all the time and just 'flickers' when the motor is turned over. I mean that it never goes out, but the light flickers when the engine is turned over. The injectors do not pulse.
I put the Camaro ECM in the truck during the swap, using the existing wiring harness from the truck. I had to use the truck TBI since the TPS sensor was different. I just switched the injectors over. But there is no power going to the injectors.
I am getting a code 53 out of the 'puter, which is a voltage issue?
Any ideas/help?

Re: No injector pulse TBI

Was the 5.0 a TBI, CPI or Sequential injection when it was in the camaro?

The Camaro was also TBI. I changed the TBI from the truck's 4.3 because the TPS was different. Then I put the injector pod onto the truck's TBI base.
Thanks for looking. I am really puzzled by this one. I have had surgery on my arm and am not very mobile right now. I WANT to dive in and start tracing WHERE THE HECK that power is coming from on the white wire out of the distributor. But it will have to wait a while until my arm heals a little more.
But if someone has a clue where I should look, I can make a few checks!

what year was the camaro that you got the ecm from? if it was around 88-89 or newer, it has VATS and that would be why the injectors arent firing. try putting the 4.3's ecm back into it, it should run. if still no luck turn the key on and check voltage at the injectors. the possitive side of the injectors should have 12 volts anytime the key is on, they negative pulses are what fire the injectors

Yeah, I'm a dufus. I just found out that the injectors are live all the time! The ground is what makes them work.
Will my 4.3 ECM work with the 5.o motor? The Camaro was a '92. The truck is an '88 C-1500.
Thanks for the help.

Yep, it is a tooth off on timing, but it fired up after I put the 4.3 ECM back in. I will have to wait and let my arm quit aching before I pull the distributor. It is a real agrravation not being able to work my arm more than a few minutes at even easy tasks!
Now can anybody tell me if I can continue to use the 4.3 ECM?

the 4.3's ecm should work for it, but the check engine light will probly be on for a lean mixture. i'm not sure if your year of truck was a available with a 305, but you should be able to find a prom or the whole ecm from 88 C-1500 that came with a 350, and that should work for ya.

Hey, thanks for the info! The exhaust was pretty rich, but the distributor was against the coil to run and still was too fast! I'll have to move it a tooth to time it right. I guess I willl have to time it by "ear" since the shiny chrome timing cover has no timing mark! It is supposed to have an RV cam in it and has the Edelbrock TBI Performer manifold. Maybe I should just get a superchip for it?
Again, thanks for the help!

no problem

a custom chip would probly work out best for ya. when your adjusting the timing, make sure you un-plug the timing advace connector. it's a single tan wire with a white or grey stripe. un-plug that before you start the engine, then adjust the timing, then shut the motor off and plug it back in
