R35 skyline to be sold in USA?

ive heard alot of rumors that the R-35 Skyline GT-R is going to be mainstreamed in the US. if so, i hope they arent planning on making it look like the prototype version on the cover page of automotiveforums! it looks fuckin ugly like that, but ive also seen other pictures of what the Skyline R-35 is going to look like and think they should be more like it! does anyone know if they have finally made it final with the styling of it, and also does anyone know when they are probably going to be mainstreamed?

I dont mean to be unpatriotic but this has gone too far, the US charges up to 200% sales tax, they make you pay MotoRex an outrageous sum of money to import your desired jspec, and they make you go through all these emissions that make it impossible for most people to get their jap car.

when I'm old enuff to drive i would like to get a skyline but they want me to pay 90k for a '99 gtr-34, when you can get the same car in japan for 40k less!

The Skyline is coming to America as an Infinty! So it will be more expensive than the Q45.

It will be called the Infinity R35 and will have the 3.5 liter v6 that Nissan is currently running in the US. It will be a single turbo, 6-speed manual rear drive sports sedan.

I will be a toned down version of the R34 as far as looks.

there will be two version of the R35 the Infinity model is actually called the Q35 infinity is trying to stay away from the R badge because they know its not an actually skyline also its a 3.8 litre V8 not 6 nissan will also be making a GTR skyline R35 but thats not slated for us release till about 2003 or 2004

They also put luxury features in it , that i don't think it needs , it has no RB26DETT , no turbos , auto trans , no 4WD , no ferrari-style rear lights , all the best things that skyline had are taking out , i hope they fail with this $hit , and infinty goes down , and somebody at nissan finally will see how much they could earn by selling regular skylines in the rest of world... If they only thought about it 10 years ago... Damn , i hate that infiniti , i said to myself "this is it , at last" and what i see? Another slow grandpa's car that blocks the fast lane doing 40 mph... And they could offer GTRs for like 50k and pepole would buy em anyway... If they can pay 100k to motorex , why they wouldn't like to pay 50 or 60k to nissan? I don't understand it...

actually the infinity modle is not really a skyline ive seen one and been in one and actually it is a really nice car and it has a single turbo its not a skyline its a Q35 an its is pretty quick i liked it and im a die hard nissan fan/ lover the R35 which will be made by nissan will be a skyline if you didnt understand my last post

Wow. Rumor mill central here...

The Infiniti G35 is a rebadged Skyline sedan. We do have a whole G35 forum. I got to see a pre-production model, and they're really nice cars.

The R35 GT-R is still just a concept car. Nissan did stop production on the R34 GT-R and said that meant all GT-Rs, so that part is still up in the air.

Well, the words from Ghosn's own lips were that the GTR will be back in 2004 with a chassis and suspension much like the current R34 M-specs and M-specNUrs. The powerplant will be putting out in excess of 330kw, sounds good to me

i just wanted to say that the nissan infiniti predecssesor (G35) is almost identical to the nissan skyline R34. cept tha sedan part. it's beefy and all but it ain't a skyline. peace out.

It's just not the GT-R version everyone is stuck on getting. Everyone thinks that the GT-R is the only Skyline out there.
